Eddie Blackmon is a Grammy-Award Winning music executive and a graduate of Arizona State University. Eddie’s two-decade-plus music career has spanned Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music label, Columbia Records, Def Jam Recordings, John Legend’s Homeschool Records, AWAL, and his own firm, A Shade of Red Entertainment. Throughout Eddie’s career, he has partaken in creating, releasing and disseminating many Grammy-Award Winning hits; however, those smashes pale compared to his commitment to uplifting those around him. As much as he may be a seasoned record executive, he’s also a tried, true and tested thought leader. Most importantly, he is committed to elevating the next vanguard of black creators, executives, artists, songwriters and producers.
The Eddie Blackmon Popular Music Scholarship supports underrepresented students who might not have the opportunity to receive a college degree focusing on their passion for popular music.
