Promoting Cardiovascular Health, Brain Health, & Healthspan

Learn more about your impact

Gifts to our Promoting Cardiovascular Health, Brain Health & Healthspan Research Fund support important and novel research projects that focus on nutrition and exercise strategies designed to optimize cardiovascular and brain health and extend healthspan. This collaborative research involves Dr. Susan Racette’s Nutrition & Exercise Lab, which investigates lifestyle approaches and interventions to enhance healthspan, defined as the number of years lived in good health without chronic disease. Notable areas of investigation include long-term calorie restriction to slow biological aging, time-restricted eating to improve cognitive function and brain health and exercise programs to enhance cardiorespiratory fitness.

"I'm thankful for my involvement in CALERIE … motivating me to a healthier lifestyle. I also appreciate your enthusiasm and encouragement — you have my sincere thanks."

Impact of Donor Support

The generosity of donors supports novel clinical research activities and enables students at the undergraduate, master’s and doctoral levels to develop research skills and expertise while contributing to important health promotion research. By providing opportunities for students to engage in mentored research, donor contributions help to advance scientific discovery while fostering the growth of a new generation of scholars.
