Joey Daccord Community Impact Fund
Learn more about your impact
The Joey Daccord Community Impact Fund was established to provide access to hockey related resources, such as game tickets and clinics, for historically underprivileged youth. This community-impact fund, named after Joey Daccord, the first ASU hockey player to sign an NHL entry-level contract, was established to provide support for the Sun Devil Hockey Program at the discretion of the head coach with appropriate donor consultation. Your gift will allow youth to access events they would not be able to access without your help. For example, gifts may enable Valley families with children fighting cancer to attend a Sun Devil Hockey games in a suite in ASU's new Mullett Arena or enable children to attend a hockey clinic. Your generosity will ensure more young people can gain from the full Sun Devil Hockey program experience.
Impact of Donor Support
- The cost for an out-of-state student-athlete to attend ASU for one year is more than $75,000 on average between tuition, team travel, equipment, sports medicine, food and nutrition and tutoring/academic resources.
- In 2024, Arizona State ranked ahead of Stanford, Cal, USC and UCLA for the third year in a row for Academic Progress Rating which tracks achievement in the classroom year over year.
- Some more metrics that show just how much these hard-working student-athletes have achieved with your support: 3.40 average GPA (spring 2024), 43% of the senior class made the Dean’s List throughout the 2023-24 academic year, 50 total student-athletes across six teams were named to the 2023 conference Academic Honor Roll and 165 total Sun Devil student-athletes received degrees in the 2023-24 academic year, with 58 graduating with honors.
