Treks for Vets

Learn more about your impact

Treks for Vets is an initiative designed in partnership with the Pat Tillman Veteran Center to help ASU student veterans stay the course and complete their degree. Following their first year of studies, students have the opportunity to take part in a four-day journey at one of Arizona's wilderness settings to recharge, reimagine, reinvigorate, and reconnect with fellow veterans who have shared experiences. Our hope is that this will provide them with a support system through the completion of their degree.

Your gift to the Treks for Vets Fund helps pay for all expenses related to this special journey including lodging, food, training, guidance and educational materials. It also ensures student veterans have the tools they need to support their mental, physical, emotional and spiritual health.

I like the philosophy behind it of helping veterans come back and cope. It was an amazing experience that wildly exceeded my expectations."

Impact of Donor Support

  • More learners can pursue higher education. Thanks to our donors, more than 7,000 ASU students have received upwards of $32 million in scholarships with more than $39 million raised.
  • More students succeed. ASU ranks #1 among the state’s public universities for its 86% first-year retention rate thanks in part to donor-funded student success initiatives.
  • Important initiatives continue. More than $320 million in new gifts and commitments support ongoing initiatives at ASU.
  • The spirit of generosity abounds. In the past year, more than 100,000 individual, corporate and foundation donors stepped forward to help the ASU community.

I believe ASU is a major life force in our community and I want to do my part to help it thrive."
