The ASU Leadership, Diplomacy and National Security Lab provides education and training to develop character-driven leaders with the knowledge and global perspective to make a positive impact. Led by experts in national security, diplomacy and foreign affairs, the lab focuses on leadership, diplomacy and national security, preparing students from diverse backgrounds. Located near the White House at the ASU Barrett & O'Connor Washington Center, the lab offers direct access to top leaders and organizations shaping domestic and foreign policy. Over 500 students have completed the lab’s courses and programs, advancing to roles in the U.S. Foreign Service, Department of State, military, federal agencies, NGOs, think tanks and Capitol Hill.
Impact of Donor Support
Washington Week: More graduate students will have the chance to attend Washington Week, a week-long experience in D.C. where they engage with foreign policy and leadership experts. Students interact with professionals from the U.S. Department of State, National Security Council, embassies, think tanks, NGOs and Capitol Hill.
Policy Design Studio: More undergraduates will be able to travel to Washington, D.C. to participate in The Policy Design Studio, a semester-long simulation led by former U.S. Ambassadors. Students work on real-world diplomatic relations in an embassy setting, guided by U.S. government officials and Washington-based experts.
ASU World Innovators Summit: Donor support will help expand ASU's reach by bringing emerging international leaders to return to the U.S. for the ASU World Innovators Summit, where they will tackle leadership challenges, explore solutions and collaborate with ASU to address pressing global issues.
