I think a lot of people discount how much scholarships can change people’s lives. Even if it’s a small donation, it goes a long way for people like me who don’t have a lot of wiggle room when it comes to college finances.
Impact of Donor Support
In 2024, the ASU Alumni Association awarded over $44,000 in chapter scholarships. Since the 2010 academic year, ASU Alumni chapters have awarded over 600 scholarships, totaling more than $600,000. These scholarships are more than just financial relief – they’re a gateway to a vibrant community of Sun Devils that spans generations, offering a chance to grow, thrive and engage.
As a proud ASU Black Alumni member for over 15 years, I have witnessed firsthand the impact of our collective efforts in supporting student success. Through our endowment fund, our plaque on the Alumni building wall, and other meaningful initiatives, we are ensuring representation and providing valuable resources to help students thrive in their educational journeys. Our commitment to education goes beyond financial support; it’s about creating lasting opportunities, representation, and empowering future generations to succeed.
