Learn more about your impact

Melanie Farquharson Goddard Brose was an adventurer, scientist, and philosopher, who dedicated herself to the understanding and protection of creatures and the natural world. She saw futures in which living beings transcend the limits of time and move freely among the stars, using these great abilities to cultivate wisdom and beauty.

Enabled by her resources, and inspired by her ideas, the Archelon efforts at Arizona State University are intended to advance and present new research or discoveries which advance the ability to understand, manipulate, and ultimately navigate time.

The Melanie Brose Archelon Fellow directly supports a prize and a lecture in The Beyond Center for Fundamental Concepts at ASU. The prize will be known as the Melanie Brose Archelon Time Science Prize. The annual lecture by the prize recipient will be promoted as the Melanie Brose Archelon Time Science Lecture. Lecture topics may focus on the nature of time and means to advance human navigation within it. You can find out more here.

Prize recipients will be identified through a process including application and faculty nomination.
