Michael and Rebecca Berch established their scholarship in 1992 with the goal of supporting several deserving ASU Law students every year. Since then, they have supported over 80 law students! So dedicated were the Berches to helping ASU law students flourish that the Student Success Center at the law school is named in honor of Michael and Rebecca Berch – a lasting testament to their commitment and support.
Michael Berch challenged us in the classroom and pushed us to think; outside the classroom, he loved to laugh and play jokes and was always very generous."
Impact of Donor Support
- More learners can pursue higher education. In 2022, 22,000 donors contributed $66.3 million for scholarships.
- More students succeed. ASU ranks #1 among the state’s public universities for its 86% first-year retention rate thanks in part to donor-funded student success initiatives.
- And donors helped ASU offer more than 4,500 hours of free tutoring.
