The Arizona State University Foundation, a private 501 (c)(3) organization whose purpose is to advance Arizona State University by raising and investing private contributions on behalf of ASU, was awarded its fourth consecutive four-star rating from Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent charity evaluator.
A four-star rating, the agency’s highest, is reserved for the exceptional non-profit that, according to Charity Navigator, “exceeds industry standards and outperforms most charities in its Cause.” The rating indicates a charity’s superior financial health, accountability and transparency.
“The ASU Foundation’s coveted 4-star rating puts it in a very select group of high-performing charities,” said Michael Thatcher, president and CEO of Charity Navigator. “Out of the thousands of nonprofits Charity Navigator evaluates, only one out of four earns four stars – a rating that demands rigor, responsibility and commitment to openness. The ASU Foundation’s supporters should feel much more confident that their hard-earned dollars are being used efficiently and responsibly when it acquires such a high rating.”
“We make every effort to exceed expectations when it comes to fiscal responsibility and transparency,” said ASU Foundation CEO R.F. “Rick” Shangraw. “As a new school year begins and thousands of hopeful, ambitious students flood our campuses, we are reminded of the generosity of donors who have helped make Arizona State University the great institution it is.”
