Grand Challenge Scholars Program
Learn more about your impact
The Grand Challenges Scholars Program provides undergraduate students with the opportunity to develop a cohesive portfolio of diverse curricular and co-curricular experiences while being mentored by faculty and staff. Students will focus their experiences on addressing global challenges related to the Grand Challenges theme they are interested in: Sustainability, Security, Health or Joy of Living. This funding supports research stipends, experiential learning grants and participation in the GCSP Summer Institute.
Impact of Donor Support
- More learners can pursue higher education. In 2022, 7,406 students received scholarships funded by donors, which totaled $39.3 million.
- More students succeed. ASU ranks #1 among the state’s public universities for its 85% first-year retention rate thanks in part to donor-funded student success initiatives.
- And donors helped ASU offer more than 4,500 hours of free tutoring.
